The Mountain Monthly is the newspaper for Cloudcroft and the surrounding area. Visitors use our paper as a guide to the area, while locals and part-time residents subscribe to keep up with local news, and to see if their picture is in the paper!

SET IT OFF RESPONSE
My family and I wholeheartedly agree with your recent article on page 13 of the February 2004 Mountain Monthly edition! We have seriously contemplated forwarding this article to all the news stations in West Texas and New Mexico. It is simply absurd to be subject to all the "body-blocking" and nonsense that occurs with the "weather people." We are usually ignored and when per chance we are mentioned, the forecast is vague and/or inaccurate.
Furthermore, they will spend too much time on what's happening with the weather in other areas of the country, including footage of an uneventful snow shower in Minnesota, and basically "blow-off" our area of the state. It's become a mind-blowing and exasperating experience to try and view the weather report on any of the newscasts.
Thank you so much for articulating the problem. We hope you will forward your article to the producers of every broadcast station and much needed change will occur. Keep up the good work!
