Lumberjack Day - Pure Fun

Chainsaws roared and sawdust danced in the wind at this year's Lumberjack Day! In its ninth year, Lumberjack Day was a day of pure fun, both for contestants and on-lookers. About 50 contestants, including the program coordinator Richard Mitchell, competed in 11 events at Zenith Park, while on-lookers enjoyed the sights, sounds, and snacks. The 11 events had contestants flinging axes through the air, balancing on logs, and showing off their chainsaw skills. The results were as follows.
Ax Throwing, 1st Joel Dees Jr., 2nd Andy Olsen, 3rd Sean Williams. Stihl Stock Saw, 1st Joel Dees Sr., 2nd Dan King, 3rd Reed Hunt. Single Bucking, 1st Buck Woolen, 2nd Joel Dees, Sr., 3rd Reed Hunt. Personal Stock Saw under 4.5 c.i., 1st Andy Olsen, 2nd Carlos Alarcon, 3rd Sean Williams. Personal Stock Saw over 4.5 c.i., 1st Andy Olsen, 2nd Sean Williams, 3rd Carlos Alarcon. Women's Double Bucking, 1st Erine and Candice, 2nd Veronica and Maria, 3rd Sam and Kate. Obstacle Pole Cut-Off, 1st Joel Dees Sr., 2nd Joel Dees Jr., 3rd Carlos Alarcon. Jack and Jill Bucking, 1st Buck and Alicia, 2nd Carlos and Veronica, 3rd Daniel and Mary. Men's Double Bucking, 1st Buck and Tom, 2nd Richard and Dwayne, 3rd Joel Sr. and Joel Jr. Choker Settings, 1st Carlos Alarcon, 2nd Joel Dees Sr., 3rd Andy Olsen. When all the events were over and individuals were awarded, three overall winners were chosen in accordance with the National Lumberjacking Rules. They were 1st place winner Joel Dees Sr., 2nd place winner Andy Olsen, 3rd place winner Carlos Alarcon. In the end, all the lumberjackers left dusty and happy. The ninth annual Lumberjack Day was a success! See Ya' there next year.
